Sure you can Export Photos from iPhoto to the desktop or another folder and resize them, then attach those, but that is just a waste of time and effort. I'm new to MAC (a year or so) and want to use iCloud Mail, but the lack of Picture resize when attaching makes like difficult. Sep 05, 2016 Locate the picture in the Mac file system that you want to resize Open the image file you want to resize into Preview on the Mac, since Preview is typically the default image viewer you can just double-click a picture in Finder to launch into it Pull down the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Adjust Size'.
Left to right, the icons let you access selection type, 'instant alpha' (color correction), sketch, draw, add geometric object, add text, add a signature (if you have that set up already, more useful on PDF documents than photos), adjust color, resize (the tiny box with the arrows on the top left and bottom right), change line width for. Sizerox might not be the flashiest but undoubtedly one of the best image resizer apps for Mac which helps you resize multiple images on Mac without a hiccup. Resize Image
I have been using a Mac for years! Years as in back to the good old days of the Apple ][+
My photo editing program of choice is Photoshop. Even when I need to do something simple like resizing photos. I have been using Photoshop for years also. Granted, I don't consider myself a wizard with it, but I can do a few things in there!
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the applications, Preview, that ships with all Macs allows you to crop and resize photos!
To crop an image, double click it. By default, Preview will open it. Click the Select Button in the tool bar. To resize a photo, you probably want it to be rectangular so ensure that the ‘Rectangular Selection' is selected (you can click and select it).
At this point, you can click and drag within the photo to see the outline of what you will be cropping and/or resizing the photo! Once you have the area cropped, you can click and drag on the corners of the area to resize the rectangle. When you are satisfied with the area, click on the Tools Menu and select Crop (ore simply press Command-K.
At this point you can either save the image, or press Command-Z to Undo the change.
If all you want to do is just resize the image to make it smaller, click on the Tools Menu and select ‘Adjust Size…' You can now specify the size you want to make the image! Make sure the Scale Proportionally is checked so that the image does not get distorted!
Resizing photos does not have to cost an arm and a leg! Use the tools you already have!

You can resize or rotate an image opened in Preview to fit into a particular spot. You can also reduce the file size to save disk space or to download an image more quickly.
Change an image's dimensions
In the Preview app on your Mac, click the Show Markup Toolbar button (if the Markup toolbar isn't showing), then click the Adjust Size button .
Enter new values for width and height, or click the 'Fit into' pop-up menu and choose a size.
Resize the image by a percentage: Choose 'percent' from the pop-up menu next to the Width and Height fields, then enter the percentage in those fields.
Force the image to keep its original proportions: Select 'Scale proportionally.' If you change either the width or height, the other value changes to maintain the proportions. If you choose a size from the 'Fit into' pop-up menu, the image's width or height may be smaller than the chosen size to maintain the proportions.
Make the image's dimensions smaller without losing any detail: Deselect 'Resample image' before changing the width or height.
Tip: To resize multiple images at the same time, display the images in the same window, select them in that window's sidebar, then choose Tools > Adjust Size.
